Wireforms
The wireform springs are shaped springs made entirely of spring steel wire with a circular cross- section. They are mainly used to absorb forces and torques. Like the large number of applications, the variety of shapes is almost unlimited.
Key Aspects of Wireforms:
- Material: Primarily fabricated from spring steel, though they can be made from stainless steel (for corrosion resistance), carbon steel, or other alloys to meet specific environmental needs.
- Functionality: Beyond absorbing force and torque, wireforms act as clips, brackets, retainers, and linkages to hold, connect, or guide parts.
- Manufacturing: They are produced using CNC wire bending and forming machines, allowing for highly tailored and precise designs that can incorporate multiple bends.
- Advantages: They are highly customizable, cost-effective, space-efficient, and lightweight, often replacing heavier machined parts.
